Housecall Pro Pricing for Auto Detailers (2026): Basic vs Essentials vs MAX

Housecall Pro starts at $79/month on flexible monthly billing, or $59/month when Basic is billed annually. The bigger pricing question for a detailing business is when team size, routes, GPS and route optimization push you into Essentials or MAX.

Basic: the plan most solo detailers should inspect first

Basic is the lowest published Housecall Pro tier. It includes one user plus online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments, price book, job costing and review management.

For a solo mobile detailer, that means the entry plan already covers a broad set of customer-booking and field-service workflows. The trade-off is specialization: Housecall Pro is built as a general service-business platform, not around vehicle records, VIN-first intake or detailing-specific inspection workflows.

Essentials: where team operations get materially deeper

Essentials raises the included user count to five and adds routes, checklist automations, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS, commissions, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync.

A detailer running several technicians or vans should compare the operational value of those team tools against the jump from Basic's published price. If you mainly need one calendar and one user, paying for Essentials only because it is the middle tier may not make sense.

MAX: route optimization, larger teams and advanced operations

MAX includes eight users and adds route optimization, recurring service plans, open API access and dedicated onboarding. Housecall Pro currently publishes additional MAX users at $35/month each.

For mobile detailing, route optimization can be the clearest reason to inspect MAX: the value depends on how much technician travel and multi-stop scheduling actually affect your operation. A studio-based detailer may care much less about that feature than a business dispatching several vans across a wide service area.

What can change the real Housecall Pro cost?

  • Billing cycle: the published annual rate is lower than flexible monthly billing, but annual billing changes the commitment and cash-flow profile.
  • Team size: Basic includes one user, Essentials five and MAX eight. Larger MAX teams add seat cost.
  • Route optimization: DetailerFit treats this as a MAX-level requirement in its current cost model.
  • Add-ons and processing: optional products and payment-processing costs are separate from the base subscription figures above.
  • Partner promotion: the current 20%-off offer can reduce first-year spend if the visitor is eligible, but DetailerFit does not assume it stacks with every other discount.

Is Housecall Pro worth the price for an auto detailing business?

The answer depends more on workflow than on the headline starting price. Housecall Pro now publishes a dedicated auto-detailing software industry page and explicitly positions the product for mobile and shop-based detailing jobs, including online booking, scheduling, invoicing and payments. DetailerFit still treats it as broader field-service software rather than a vehicle-first detailing CRM, so automotive-specialist products may deserve more attention when vehicle records, VIN workflows, inspections or detailing-specific service logic are the priority.

Setup and migration

Housecall Pro documents self-service imports for customer, job and price-book data. MAX customers can also have access to additional data-import assistance. Before switching from a detailing-specific platform, verify whether any must-keep vehicle history, inspection media, memberships, custom forms and automations transfer in the form you need.
