BEST FIRST LOOK FOR

Detailing businesses that want a broad home-service operating system with customer booking, scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoices and payments.

WATCH BEFORE YOU BUY

Housecall Pro now publishes a dedicated auto-detailing software use case, but the platform is still broader field-service software rather than a vehicle-first detailing CRM. If VIN, vehicle history or detailing-specific inspection workflows matter most, compare Urable and QuoteIQ.

Why it makes the shortlist

Basic publishes online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments, price book, job costing and review management. That is a substantial entry-level field-service toolkit.

Housecall Pro also now publishes a dedicated auto detailing software industry page covering online booking, scheduling, invoicing and payments for mobile and shop-based detailing jobs. DetailerFit treats that as evidence that detailing is an explicit vendor-supported use case, while still separating it from vehicle-first CRM features such as VIN-led intake and detailing-specific inspection history.

Where higher tiers matter

Essentials adds routes, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS, commissions and QuickBooks Online. Max adds route optimization, recurring service plans, API access and dedicated onboarding.

Which plan should you inspect first?

Solo operators should start with Basic. A 2–5 person team that needs routes and GPS should inspect Essentials. Larger or more operationally complex teams should compare Max against Jobber and specialist platforms before committing.

Setup and migration

Housecall Pro now supports self-service imports for Customers, Jobs and Price Book data from files. Its current import workflow accepts Excel or CSV data for jobs and customers, maps source columns to Housecall Pro fields, checks formatting and gives you a chance to correct import errors before completing the transfer.

Customer data can also be brought in from QuickBooks or contacts. Housecall Pro recommends choosing one up-to-date source of truth for the initial customer import rather than importing overlapping historical data from multiple sources.

Migration assistance: Housecall Pro says MAX customers can work with its Data Import team to move Customers, Job History, Equipment and Price Book data. The basic transfer option is free, while additional fees can apply when exports involve multiple files or extra formatting outside the standard scope.

DetailerFit migration lens: the documented import paths reduce the friction of moving core customer, job and price-book data, but they do not prove that every historical object from another detailing platform will transfer cleanly. Before switching, verify any must-keep items such as inspection photos, memberships, custom forms, automations and vehicle-specific history.
